Join us as a member of The Canadian Patient Engagement Network. IMAGINE Citizens Collaborating for Health is a member of the Action Team who contributed to its development. We believe that The Network can develop into a valuable place to provide and receive information and support in real-time.
What is the Canadian Patient Engagement Network?
The Canadian Patient Engagement Network is an open and safe space for anyone passionate about patient engagement or patient centred care. Here you can connect, learn, help and get help to achieve your patient engagement objectives. Patients, families, patient advisors as well as providers, managers, leaders are expected to build individual and system capacity, develop collective wisdom, reduce duplication, and increase alignment and collaboration. By being part of this Network we can contribute to achieving this vision. Facebook and LinkedIn house this moderated Network.
A Patient Engagement Guide will Support the Network
As part of the National Patient Safety Consortium, the Canadian Patient Safety Institute is leading the development of an evidence-informed, comprehensive guide for the involvement of patients and families in patient safety and quality activities. This practical “how to” resource will be applicable to various system levels, and will be aligned with and complement existing resources that aim to help users – patients/families and providers/organizations – effectively partner to accelerate patient safety and quality efforts.
Why was the Canadian Patient Engagement Network developed?
An Action Team of 13 partner organizations is contributing to the planning, design, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of the guide. Early on in our work together the Action Team identified that in addition to the guide, both patients/families and providers/organization need a place to connect, learn, and give and get support in real time. The Canadian Patient Engagement Network was created to support this need.
