Results that matter
In order to design a patient-centred health system that works for all Albertans, we have to understand what citizens expect their system to deliver. We have started talking to people across the province about what improvements are needed and what success might look like in these areas. In the near future we will be reaching out with polls and events focused on creating a set of outcomes that matter most to the citizens of our province.
Once we understand the health outcomes that matter most to Albertans, we will work with our system partners to find the best ways of assessing progress towards these outcomes. We want to pay attention to what is actually happening, (not what we think or hope is happening). This will help us learn about what is working and what still needs to be changed.
Sharing what we learn with Albertans is a critical step towards improving how health care is delivered in our province. As well as sharing evidence, we will report back to you on progress towards the outcomes that matter most to Albertans.
We hope that you can use this information to:
- inform your interactions with the health system to improve your own health
- be a champion of patient-centred healthcare services
- play a role in the design of patient-centred healthcare services
